From a time before Game Boys and others that arrived in the early 90s, handheld retro electronic games came equipped with LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) or VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) screens. Grandstand, Tomy, Tiger Electronics and Bandai all produced a huge range of devices from around 1982 onwards.
