Refund and Returns Policy

If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, please get in touch and I will always try and resolve the situation in the fairest possible way.

Overview

Our refund and returns policy lasts 28 days for new products. If 28 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Second hand “retro” goods are exempt from this policy, and are offered with a 7 day return window for products that are faulty or not as described. If the item arrives in an unexpected condition or is not what you expected, then you have 7 days in which to notify me in order to establish if you qualify for an exchange, repair or refund. Each return of second hand goods is handled on a case-by-case basis.

To complete your return in person, please bring your receipt or proof of purchase.

There are certain products that cannot be exchanged unless faulty or delivered with damage (within 7 days):

  • Video games, books, posters, CDs, DVDs, VHS tape, software, cassette tape, or other media

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment as quickly as possible.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, please notify me within a reasonable time-frame. If we have confirmed the refund has been sent and the details are correct, then contact your credit card company or your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is credited.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact me.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale or clearance items cannot be refunded unless faulty or not as described (within 7 days).

Exchanges

I only replace items if they are defective or not as described. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send me an email to discuss your exchange.

Descriptions of Retro Items

I try to photograph unique and one-off items listed on my website, but this is not exhaustive and many items including most games are not listed with images. If you’d like to see the condition of the exact item you’ll receive, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Video games and other items are described as fair, good, very good or excellent as follows:

  • Fair : Item will have obvious signs of wear. It is recommended to ask to see condition of the item.
  • Good : The item will have less wear and presents well. You may still want to ask for photos.
  • Very Good : Item will have minimal signs of wear and be very presentable.
  • Excellent : The item is free of any obvious defects or blemishes.

As of 2026 I am now adding “Disc Condition” to all disc-based games listed as follows:

A : The disc will be free of any noticeable scratches.
B+ : The disc may have a small number of very minor scratches.
B : The disc will have some scratches and blemishes but nothing major.
C : The disc will have obvious scratches and wear but should still be playable.

If I identify that the disc has been previously polished, this may also be included in the description.

Shipping Returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Retro Sect Ltd, Unit 3, Kenard Business Centre, Gannaway Lane, Tewkesbury, GL20 8FD.

If you are returning an item that is not faulty or as described, you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
